Recently, I was feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed out by all of the moving parts of my life, and also feeling kind of unclear on why I felt so overwhelmed all the time! I said to myself, “I need to find a way to ease relieve stress and anxiety!!” Between work, relationships, taking care of myself, and growing in new ways, I knew I had a lot to keep track of and needed a way to write it all out. I love feeling like I have my life organized, and I really appreciate visualized things as well, so I decided to sit down and visually organize the efforts of my energy. To do this, I knew that a life mind map would be the best route.
I had used the web app called Coggle for mind maps before back in college and used it to create my Life Mind Map, too. In college, I had a lot of projects to keep track of, and creating mind maps always a great way for me to relieve stress! I like this app because it lets me color-code, resize, drag and drop, and overall easily make a mind map. I also love that since it’s web-based, I can access my mind map from anywhere, at any time, as long as I have access to the internet! Here is a copy of my Life Mind Map:
I review my Life Mind Map about once a month. I do this to:
- Decrease stress and anxiety around my responsibilities and life decisions
- Find a renewed sense of gratitude for all of the pieces of my life
- Take stock of what I am working on and what I could be focusing more energy towards
- Set goals for new projects
Could a Life Mind Map work well for you to relieve stress and anxiety? You’ll never know until you try!
