Recently, I was feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed out by all of the moving parts of my coaching business. I also was feeling kind of unclear on why I felt so overwhelmed all the time! Frustrated, I said to myself, “I need to find a way to easily relieve stress and anxiety!!” Between social media, ads, blogging, clients, scheduling, and taking care of myself I had a lot to keep track of. I needed a way to write it all out. I love feeling like I have my life organized, and I really appreciate visualized things as well. So, I decided to sit down and visually organize the efforts of my energy. To do this, I knew that a coaching business mind map would be the best route.
Platforms you can use to design a mind map
In college I used a web app called Coggle for making mind maps. I had a lot of projects to keep track of, and creating mind maps was always a great way for me to relieve stress! This app is awesome because it lets me color-code, resize, drag and drop, and overall easily make a mind map. I also love that since it’s web-based so I can access my mind map from anywhere, any time, as long as I have internet!
An alternative platform I like using to make mind maps and organize my thoughts is Miro. It has a host of features for organizing your thoughts, planning out work sprints, designing project outlines, and everything in between.
Fortunately, both platforms offer a free sign up that will give you a few boards where you can begin designing your coaching business mind map. If you decide to stick with either platform, Coggle runs $5 a month for unlimited boards as well as an expanded library of tools for creating your coaching business mind maps. Miro, on the other hand, will run you $8 a month for a comparable subscription.
An example coaching business mind map
If you’re interested in making your own coaching business mind map, here is an example of my coaching business mind map. I made this in college to plan out the future I was working towards and it helped me get where I am today. Making authentic, fulfilling decisions starts with deciding your values and priorities. Take a look at my example to see what my values and priorities were when I designed my coaching business mind map:
I used this mind map to figure out how my business would be structured. I wanted to provide consistent results for my clients so I needed to design a process that would help with their transformation. Understanding how your business will flow will help ensure that you can consistently deliver results by following the same steps to get there.
This mind map was to help brand my business and content. I wanted to deliver a consistent message that people would be able to resonate with. I also wanted to make sure I was representing my business accurately so people know how I could help them. Using this mind map to develop my branding and content has allowed me to get consistent results finding new clients better relating to existing ones.
