I used to struggle to earn consistent $5k/month as a new online coach because I didn’t fully believe in myself or my offer enough to confidently market myself within any one coaching niche. I wondered if there even were profitable coaching niches that I fit into!
I almost didn’t want people to know I had offers because I was so unsure of my coaching niche. So I ended up making zero sales my first two years as a coach because of my indecision and desire to help everyone, which ultimately resulted in me helping no one.
I didn’t know how to combine my passion for teaching people about self-care and self-love habits, empowered decision-making, career and life alignment, and how to communicate as a people pleaser.
I wanted to fit all of that into my niche statement. As a result it either ended up super long or I’d get embarrassed by how long it took me to write out my coaching niche (because I knew it wasn’t clear enough) and shorten it to just “Career coach,” which also felt too short! This led to getting nervous about my lack of clarity and deciding that meant I wasn’t ready to market or sell my coaching services yet, and not talk about my work.
I had to learn one super important lesson that NO ONE in the coaching industry was willing to say out loud: any niche can be a profitable coaching niche!
The Caveat...
BUT… it needs to be way more specific than the typical coaching niches you hear all over like: life coach, career coach, or relationship coach.
Once I got really clear on my brand and started confidently owning what I could do for my clients, why I was good at it, and developed a specific coaching program that aligned with my niche, my business took off!
I was able to easily sell my first signature program Sustain Your Passion and had so much fun working with my dream clients! Since this shift in thinking, I have not only built my career coaching business up, but also went on to rebrand myself to help new entrepreneurs with their businesses!
I used the same process to craft my specific, profitable coaching niche again so I can confidently share about my new programs and invite my community of ideal clients to join my offers. Not only that, but I actually have fun marketing and selling now because I have clarity on what I offer, for who, and why. Having a clear niche has helped me run a profitable coaching business for over five years now!
